Harvest from June 22nd. Yup, that's a cute little radish down there. Gave it to the girl to play with/drool on.
Whoo-hoo! Got my produce scale today! Oh, and those are strawberries I snagged on my way through the garden today (June 23rd). 1.2oz to be exact.
I forget whether I'd shown these before or not. Some of the strawberries from the yard and from Greenbluff are in here. Those suckers shrink down like you wouldn't believe. Still need to call up Del Monte and have a hissy fit. It's on my to-do list...
Oh, and hubby talked to MIL today or yesterday. She was supposed to come up and visit, but we never saw her (which is why I *never* tell the kids - they're always ecstatically surprised when a grandparent shows up, it's so cute, and I don't ever have to explain why so-and-so never showed up, works quite well!). Anyway, she apparently asked hubby if I'd be okay with them (her and her boyfriend) giving us maybe 20lbs of apricots. He told her sure, I probably wouldn't mind. My actual response after the fact? "Make it more like 60lbs and I'll be good." Canned and dehydrated, baby. Yum yum.
Busy the next few days... visiting a friend tomorrow, with sewing projects for her if I get my butt in gear in the morning, day after I'm going to another friend's house and doing a little canning party. I'm apparently the instructor, but I'm planning more on just supervising. Doing is learning and all. Somehow I managed to slog along learning it all on my own, it'll be okay.

no seriously... you're insane! I wish you were my mom. is that sick or what? lol your kids will always have the best foods ever. they will never realize how good they have it til... they try to find someone just like you to marry themselves! haha
