  • Well, he made it.

Hubby's first day of work is tomorrow.
He drove over this afternoon/evening, and is at a friend's house.  Okay, an online friend of mine from one of the kiddo's birth clubs, but still.  She's awesome for offering to take him in for the short term here.  And I'm lame and don't even remember her husband's name - he was the one that was still up to let my hubby in.  Anyway, hubby made good time though - he probably didn't get out of town until almost 4pm, and he rolled in over there at 11pm or so.  Granted, that's without rush hour traffic, but still.  Gives me hope for later this week.

Also made a huge dent in progress of the house.  Still have a few things I want to do before taking more progress photos (rearranging some furniture, re-vacuuming, etc.).  But damn, it's a huge difference.  We got our real estate agent picked out.  I'm totally going with my gut and who I feel comfortable with.  Went against my gut (I think?) with the first one when we bought the place, and dang, a grocery cart probably would've been more helpful than him.  We won't be able to get the house MLS/show ready for at least another 2-3 weeks though.

So, being the ticking time bomb I am, I just need to start prepping myself for somehow giving birth by myself with my 6yo's possible help.  Will probably call my midwife and see if I can get a quickie appointment next week - I haven't had one since 12 weeks (she really, really, really prefers clients have a babysitter or something while mom's in labor, but when I'm in labor I am not driving anywhere, nor do most of my friends have vehicles big enough to haul around my brood - and I'm private in that way that I don't want anyone but my husband, spawn and midwives even in the house when I give birth, regardless of how awesome some of my friends are).  Kiddo's kicking and wiggling all the time, I've been doing okay at staying hydrated, and I haven't gained that much weight to where I feel all that different from the pregnancies before.  My hands have felt somewhat swollen lately, but that could also be attributed to me doing so much around the house and forgetting/not having enough time to drink enough water.

  • *sigh*

I was up far, far too late the other night.  I'm getting sick of seeing apples, but am getting to the last of it.

Hubby started the tile in the entryway.  Slow going when you have "helpers" around.

  • Home insanity

    Flooring we'd originally picked out.

We decided to go with a different place that wasn't trying to hustle us.  But the coloring of what we picked is similar.  Better than brown shag and orange/yellow/brown linoleum.  Especially for trying to sell the house.

The poor garage.  All the projects and rubbermaid tubs to haul/pack stuff.

Nothing says fun like a giant gaping hole in your house.

    New kitchen window.

Linoleum in the front entryway.  At first we thought maybe there was actual tile down underneath the 70's vinyl!  Yeah, we were wrong.  Faux brick/tile linoleum underneath.  Joy.  And poor hubby had to chip down the damn concrete foundation to smooth it out since that was apparently too difficult for the builder that was drunk/stoned while building the house.

Partly attacked.  With the old front door.

In progress.  With a new front door to boot.

    And a new screen door.

  • Dinosaurs, bellies and leaves.

Halloween.  A big dinosaur (or dragon, whatever), medium monkey, small duck.

Awww.  Little girl all passed out on Grandma.

Two of the troublesome trio.  They like playing in the yard.

25 weeks or so.  Something like that.

Went through all the 0-12mo stuff to sort/pack.

All the 0-3mo stuff and small diapers I've already got from these years.

  • We're moving.

That's right - away from the house we fit into, the garden we've worked so hard on, yup.

I fully expect to finally at least meet Angela and Paige in person, at least once.    Even better if they want to drive down and help me unpack.

So yes, I'm 24+ weeks pregnant, have three kids underfoot, and we get to frantically work on getting the house up to snuff (new floors, new trim, new windows, fresh paint, new bathroom stuff) so it'll at least show well, keep it show ready as the belly gets bigger while hubby's working out of town, and pack even more.  Ah, what fun.

Oh, so yes, hubby got the job, and starts in two weeks.    Crap.  We're just overwhelmed.  Wonder if the cost of putting the kids in daycare for a week or two would count as a moving expense - they're reimbursing us up to a certain amount of moving expenses...  And until we get the house sold, he'll be staying in a hotel or renting a room of a friend of a friend of a friend, so I get to be all alone with the hooligans.  Watch, I'll be the crazy lady delivering a kiddo by myself on the side of I-84 in a few months with a minivan full of home-canned pantry goods while the kids watch a DVD.  Wouldn't that be my luck.
